Age UK North Tyneside is committed to helping people with dementia and their carers to live fulfilling and rewarding lives.

From social and craft activities, to the services of a specialist dementia (Admiral) nurse, our aim is to assist older people in 'Making more of life'.

Craft group

This group is for People Living with Dementia who can be accompanied by family members or carers. Our crafty Dementia Support Officer will host the sessions and provide all of the materials you need for activities such as:

  • Card Making

  • Ceramic Painting

  • Jewellery Making

  • Decoupage

  • Mosaic

Memory Cafe

Our Memory Cafe is a social group for people living with dementia and their carers

Come along and enjoy a friendly atmosphere and FREE refreshments

Time Travellers

This group is for People Living with Dementia who can be accompanied by family members, friends or carers. Tyne and Wear Museums are working in partnership with our group to look back in time at your local history.

We are very excited to take part in the launch of ‘history pin’ – an inspiring social history project that will capture precious memories to share online.

Admiral Nurses

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who give expert practical, clinical and emotional support to families living with dementia to help them cope. In North Tyneside the Admiral Nurse works within the Dementia Services team at Age UK North Tyneside.
